The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) vaccines has brought great hope to all of us in the middle of the pandemic. However, questions remain in how effective this vaccine is in generating immunity against the virus in patients taking immunosuppressive drugs such as transplant recipients. Our laboratory has the opportunity to explore the safety and efficacy of the SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine for kidney transplant patients using breakthrough technology.
